Can we reduce pore size through Skincare
Every single person has pores in their entire body.
They are two types of Pores
1. One releases body oil from pores called Sebum
2.Other releases of sweat
Can we reduce pore size through skincare??
Few factors that are responsible for large pores are genetic and oily skin.
While for the first method we can’t tackle it but for the oily skin, we can take preventive measures.
Generally, Oily skin is the one who faces Large Pores, when the body releases oil it gets collected in the pores if left uncleansed it gets mixed up with dirt and makeup thus pores get stretched making it appear big.
Ways to tackle it:
You can’t completely cure it, just go through a few steps to make them look smaller.
1. Wash the face with warm water, twice a day.
Too hot or too cold will rip your skin natural oil.
2. Choose Cleanser wisely:
For Oily skin with large pores look for gel-based while for normal to dry skin go for cream cleanser.
3.Exfoliation is key:
Don’t go overboard with scrubs, try AHA & BHA, ideally BHA works well since its oil-soluble, salicylic acid penetrates in the deep layer of skin cells, unglue the bond and dissolve it and rejuvenate the skin.
4. Use Non-comedogenic products:
Many skincare and makeup brand use ingredients that clog the pore and suffocate it thus pimples and acne pop up.
Check the label before buying.
5. Use a clay mask:
We will never understand the science behind this, clay mask cleanses your pores by sucking out impurities, opt for tightening mask, it slough off the debris thus giving an illusion of small pores.
Oily skin with large pores should skip thick heavy creams and oil-based products.
As water-based moisturiser are very light on the skin, it will absorb quickly, penetrate deeper and don’t clog the pores
As we age the skin loses its collagen and elasticity and start to sag, sagging skin stretches the pores too, hence pore appears much larger than they should. Retinol helps in anti aging, hence exfoliate skin and pore are off from dirt debris
I hope I cleared all the myth surrounding on large pores, never fall for gimmicks, embrace what we have and if it all bothers you then hack it up.
Happy skin caring
