Many people swear by this, the award-winning Maria Badescu drying lotion. I fell for it and resourced it from Australia.
Pimples and acne can be a nightmare for many, we opt for instant solution at any cost, not gonna lie i have this in my wishlist for a while now.
It’s been months since started using it.
So what is it??
Mario Badescu is an American brand, started by a skincare specialist.
Though the brand curate large number of skincare products it earned accolades for their drying lotion.
Isopropyl Alcohol, Aqua (Water, Eau), Calamine, Camphor, Sulfur, Zinc Oxide, Talc, Glycerin, Salicylic Acid, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).
Comes in a glass bottle, with pink lotion at the bottom and a solution on the top.
Before using the bottle is kept unshaken or else Let it settle down and dip a q-tip in the pink solution and apply on the pimple.
Initially, it will sting a bit, later the lotion get dried on the skin.
It speeds up the process of drying up the pus. Within a few applications, the pimple will be reduced to a great extent.
Since it contains, sulfur which fights acne bacteria and helps to exfoliate dead skin that clogs pores.
Calamine dry out pimples and soothes skin.
While isopropyl alcohol is used in acne spot treatment. It will dry out the acne fast but also dry out that part of the skin too and leave pigmentation.
Do I recommend it?
It speed up the clearing process but post inflammation it dries that particular area and leave behind the nasty dark spot which takes months to fade.
Any alternative then?
Firstly it’s almost impossible to get access in India.
It may get rid of pimples but clearing up dark spots is a pain, instead we can use BHA – salicylic acid as a spot treatment.
This may take time to reduce the pimples but it totally worth it as BHA is oil soluble that penetrates in the skin and unclog the pores without leaving any blemishes.
For that matter Pimples patches are also good option you can opt for it.
I really wish this might help you if you have thoughts on buying the drying lotion.
