Uses of Retinol for anti-aging
Why all of sudden the whole world emphasis on the important of Retinoid.
Why they are asking us to involve it in the skin care regime??
Retinoid is called vitamin A
They are active and proactive, active vitamin an available over the counter or can be purchased pharmacy whereas proactive is the food we consume, beta-carotene that converts the food as vitamin A in the body.
We will be focusing on active vitamins, they are three types
1.Retinol
2.Retinoic acid
3.Retinal
Retinol is available as over the counter products, they are found in drugstore products as they will have less composition, therefore results may take time.
Retinoic acid is easily available as a prescription, it is available as tretinoin, its available in strength as 0.025 and 0.05.
When you are a beginner always use with lower strength and build it up as per your skin need. I recommend using tretinoin for beginners as its a lot cheaper and easily available whereas the only Indian brand that offers retinol is St botanica which has a strength of 2.5%thats is the higher strength.
Why we need to build up retinol??
I know many would have questions like these, firstly you need to use it twice or thrice a week with the lowest strength. our skin very easily gets used to products if we use them regularly after a point it will reach a plateau-effect where the product no longer will work or show the result, and then we need higher concentration to work on.

Why we need to add Retinol??
If your a 25+ retinol should be a staple skincare ingredient as it not only renovate your skin cell but also helps in building collagen, helps in acne\pimples, smoothen out wrinkles and give an even tone by erasing hyperpigmentation and give a glow.
retinol is one product army that fights all our skin concern, then why people won’t use it???
It one of rebellious vitamin I ever came across.
It doesn’t go along with skin, redness, flaky dry skin care, purging are to name a few.
it will make your skin worse than ever, hold your breathe and take a call because the result is amazing, you won’t regret it I promise
MY EXPERIENCE:
I have mentioned I have use retinoids from the brand st botanica 2.5%, my skin was worst at that time, fully tanned, hyperpigmented and whole jaw area I had tiny bumps.
I never knew my skin would be flipped within a week, I noticed best of my skin days while using it.
currently I’m using Tretinoin cream-tretin -0.025% a cream that is easily available at the pharmacy, one of the aggregated product I have ever used.
when I say this, believe me, I have worked my way with all the vitamins and acids.
But this baby took me more than 3 months to work still in facing flaky skin, not gonna stop it as it’s improving the even skin tone, glow and acne and dark spots are also fading.
HOW you can include in your skincare:
use it twice or thrice a week, if you ever happen to use acid then be careful as retinol exfoliate your skin, so avoid using acid when you’re using it and vitamin c as they don’t work together.
ALWAYS USE RETINOIDS IN NIGHT FOLLOWED BY A MOISTURISER as it dries your skin, but give a gap of at least 10 mins before layering
IF YOU WANT TO USE VITAMIN C SERUM USE IT IN THE MORNING OR USE ALTERNATE AT NIGHT.
NEVER USE RETINOIDS IF YOUR PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING.
ALWAYS ALWAYS USE A SUNSCREEN OF BROAD SPECTRUM ideally SPF50++
DON’T OVER EXFOLIATE AS RETINOL ITSELF ACT AS EXFOLIATOR MAKING YOUR PORES CLEAR AND ACNE/PIMPLES AT BAY
Skin care is not rocket science, it will teach you patience while enjoying your journey to reach your goal.

My dermatologist did recommend Vitamin A to get rid of blemishes and pigmentation. I have previously heard of the brand you mentioned but, haven’t tried the product out. Definitely getting my hands on it.
Retinol works well when applied at night. It is a good ingredient to repair cells and make skin look better and better with each passing day.

I have used isotretinoin many years ago to treat acne and it did work wonders but it is a harsh treatment. I hesitate to try other retinoids.
I used it for pimples and it does work wonders. However i used it in my teen years only when pimples were like my shadow. Never knew I should have continued using it in my 30s too.. Thank u for sharing this valuable piece of information.
