Mario badesu drying lotion -honest review

While we are living in digital world we need products which are well formulated.
You must have gone bonkers after seeing the reviews on Mario badesu drying lotion on pimples and acne, but wait did you know the original formula dated back to 1967.

Blame the marketing department, I went head and bought a 24$ drying lotion.
No it’s not that bad, it still does its job pretty well.
The question is will we still gona use it in 2021???

I don’t think so , we have some breakthrough formulation which doesn’t required half of the work as drying lotion.

Mario badesu drying lotion

Mario badesu drying lotion formulated with
Isopropyl Alcohol, Aqua (Water, Eau), Calamine, Camphor, Sulfur, Zinc Oxide, Talc, Glycerin, Salicylic Acid, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide)

Oohh yes!!
It does have have a camphor fragrance.

comes in glass bottle, with pink fluid in the botton followed by transparent liquid on top.
one need to keep it stand still to use the pink liquid.

How to use:
When I first purchased it I went through Google to see how it’s worked.
Firstly don’t shake the bottle, keep it stand still so that pink substance is settled down just dip a cotton bud and gently apply on the acne.
It might tingle for a while later it will dry out.

Does it work??
It did worked but it also dried my skin. Generally Isopropyl alcohol is high concentration in drying lotion which kills the acne causing bacteria.
Simultaneously it dry your skin making it flaky.
It work on the surface by drying the zit.
However the alternative we have is BHA aka salicylic acid is better at treating them beneath the surface.
It goes deeper in skin and decongest pores.

Let the Mario badesu drying lotion be talk of the past, we can proceed with better formulated wholesale product such as
BHA or salicylic acid serum .
Pimples patch.
Are to name a few.

Moreover Mario badesu is always surrounded by controversies.

Eclat fadeout serum review

The only product which gave FOMO in recent time was Eclat fadeout.
I was so desperately wanted to try it, to know the hype.

It comes in a dark bottle with pump dispenser. The texture is white thick serum which lightweight and absorb in seconds.

Comes in 30 ml bottle for 1900 rps, read it to the last to save some bucks.

It’s it worth the hype??

Do you have pigmented skin, then it’s worth trying.

Formulated with tranexamic acid 1.78%,Phytic Acid 5% ,Butyl Resorcinol, 3% azelaic acid 10%, Niacinamide 5% along with other.

Tranexamic acid inhibits the production of melanin, recent studies shows transexamic acid helped in reducing melasma and hyperpigmentation.

Azelaic acid & Niacinamide  are one of the most underrated ingredients.

Azelaic acid, Phytic acid and butyl resorcinol is know to help in pigmentation.

Niacinamide is great for repairing skin barrier and controls sebum production.

Did it helped me??
Ohh yes!

I have been using it as AM routine during ramzan 2021 and before that incorporated in PM routine.

My skin was calmed but my cheeks were worst with dark spots as I went overboard with tretinoin and ruined it.

I spot treated it after applying Hyaluronic acid, my hack with Ha serum is since it pull moisturizer from surface, I want it to attract the next active applied on skin.
That way I can benefited from actives.

Sssshhhh this is my take on using Hyaluronic acid.

I have surely saw difference in my dark spots, as a certificate of my stupidity I do have images from last 1 year to see progress. However I wish I could share.

It a must have product if you have dark spots, pigmentation or melasma.

And if you like to purchase then use my CODE Asfa on Eclat website.

    eclat Retinol serum

If there is anything which everyone need to be need to be incorporated in their skin care routine specially if they are 25 +year then it has to be a writing retinol.

It is considered as gold standard of skin care .
First it was introduced for acne treatment in early nineties now it’s it’s one of the best products for anti aging wrinkles.

Don’t get mislead From reels or the videos trending over Instagram and start with is prescription based retinol. It has a multiple derivatives one of them is tretinoin which is prescribed by the dermatologist. I have seen many started impulsively it has adverse effect if not used properly.

Benefits of Retinol:
It clears your acne
Its fights science of cajun aging
It help in clearing outs textured skin
It also help in even out skin tone

How does retinol work retinol
Our skin has cycle it depend upon the age of a concern person the younger the person is the shorter the smaller the cycle is.
So when a person uses a retinol its speed up the skin cycle. Its speed up skin cycle this giving you healthy and glowy skin.

Since retinol is a treatment and a exfoliatiant simultaneously which is working towards your skin so it is advisable to not to use any skin care products apart from hydrating serum and creams.

No physical exfoliation
No BHA nothing when you are using Retinol.
Sunscreen is non negotiable as it can make skin photosensitive.

Well I’d like to say Retinol is BAAP of every skin care ingredient.
I have been using retinol since 2018 and I can vouch on its effectiveness it’s a whole sale pacakage for skin.

Intrigued by retinol wait till I give you my recommendation.

1. Eclat Retinol serum
2. Dr sheth’s Retinoid power emulsion
3. Olay regenerist
4. Murad retinol.

Eclat Retinol review

If there is any Retinol that easily available in India, then the itch says to me to try it.

Eclat brand:
Eclat is one of the best things ever happened to Indian skincare appetite in 2020.
The brand just blew up the skincare community with its multitasker product. Eclat is a dermatologist recommended brand due to pandemic it was hard as the consultation was closed they expanded their perimeter and made it accessible to everyone.
A brand that earned immense appreciation for women’s empowerment and made it to many trophies too.

Eclat Retinol 0.8%:
When I recommend any product to my followers I always make sure that they don’t overuse it as Retinol inflicts purging.
But the formulation of Eclat Retinol 0.8% is so incredible that a beginner can be effortlessly used without damaging skin barrier.

Retinol 0.8 %,Vitamin E,Ferulic Acid,Hyaluronic ,AcidButylene glycol,Propylene Glycol,Polyethylene Glycol,Glycerine,Edta,Phenoxyethanol,Fragrance.

What is Retinol:
Don’t get me started if you don’t know how influential and worthwhile Retinol is for the skin.

Retinol is the gold standard for skincare, Retinol is a synthetic derivative of vitamin A. It was accidentally discovered for anti-aging while being treated for acne. Though Retinol has many benefits depending upon the percentage one can decide.

Eclat Retinol serum

It comes in white gel-like consistency which quickly turns cream when applied to the skin.
It does come with a fragrance that doesn’t linger me.
It comes in dark glass bottle with  pump dispenser.

My Experience:
I have been reaching out to it quite frequently during the 2021 pandemic when I was too lazy to get proper skin care.
Do consider skincare for me therapeutic.
I use it alongside niacinamide toner followed by eclat Retinol and sealing the deal with a sleeping mask.
This minimalist combo is working fine for me.
It absorbs in the skin like a dream and little goes a long way.
I haven’t experienced any purging whatsoever and I have been using it every day, as my skin has adapted it beautifully.

Benefits of Retinol:
I like to say the baap of every action is Retinol therefore compilation of every product benefits is a collective result of Retinol.
1. Prevent wrinkles and smooth fines line.
2. Fade dark spots, PIH, and help in reducing pigmentation.
3. It speeds up skin cell turnover therefore it exfoliates the skin and brightens it.
4. It helps in melanin production.
5. Boost collagen and plump skin.

Do and don’t:
1. Don’t apply Retinol on damp skin, cleanse your face and wait for 5 -10 min then apply.
2. Use Retinol only at night.
3. Hydration is the key while you’re using Retinol as the skin can purge one needs to moisturizer it regularly.
4.  Don’t use any other actives while using Retinol and no more exfoliation.
5. Use twice a week if you’re a beginner.
6. SUNSCREEN is not negotiable, use broad SPF at least 50+ with PA++.
7. If your beginner uses the sandwich method or buffer it with moisturizer or use it as a wash-off treatment.
8. Anyone who is trying to conceive, pregnant or lactating shouldn’t use Retinol In derivative you can use rosehip oil instead.

The ordinary lactic acid 10% + HA 2% review.

Hello, skincare enthusiastic!

Today I came up with another cult product from The ordinary, their lactic acid 10% + HA 2%.

Let me do a quick intro to lactic acid.

Currently, we have three exfoliations in the market, physical and chemical.
Physical exfoliation is the scrubs that we have been using for years.
While chemical exfoliation is better in the long run and it’s efficient too.

The chemical exfoliant is three types :
PHA – polyhydroxy acid,
AHA– alpha hydroxy acid &
BHA – beta-hydroxy acid.

These acids are measured based on their actives strength.
The lesser the milder and better for beginners.

Today I will be sharing my experience using lactic acid 10% + HA 2% serum from the ordinary.

We have been using lactic acid-based skincare for the longest, lactic acid can be found in dairy products like milk, curd they don’t have a uniform pH level which changes from different dairy brands.

In such a scenario, this formulated product steep the markets.

Lactic acid 10%+ HA 2% :

The ordinary formulated lactic acid in two strengths 5% and 10%.
I went ahead with 10% lactic acid. It comes with a pH of 3.8 which is close to skin pH of 5.5

I have been using actives for the past three years, I’m not new to any acids or activities, it helped my skin immensely.
I have combination acne skin with few pigmentations.

AHA helps in resurfacing the upper skin layer, AHA is water-soluble.

lactic acid is an unsung hero in boosting radiance.

The lactic acid in lower strength acts as a humectant while regular usage may help in boosting collagen production and thus helping in smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines.
Humectant: it draws moisture from the environment.
Lactic acid is a exfoliate gently and it helps dull cells slough off from the surface, it speeds up skin cell turnover. This you will witness radiant, smother, and brighter skin.

The ordinary lactic acid 10% +HA 2%

Aqua (Water), Lactic Acid, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Propanediol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Isoceteth-20, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol.

I use it in my PM routine along with other hydrating products.
At first, it did sting my skin like never before, my skin threshold is very high I’m a skincare Blogger I regularly test out products.
For the first time, I felt the pain of the Newly introduced activity.
10%lactic acid is too strong for any skin type, I bought it as I have been using Glycolic acid toner in 7% and AHA 30% + BHA 2% for one & a half years still my skin was intolerant to 10% lactic acid.
I packed it with other calming and hydrating gels without actives as a result it subsided.

Now I use it twice a week, did tweak my skincare while using actives so that I don’t get inflamed skin. My skin got to adjust to it

As mentioned on the ordinary website they quoted 10% Lactic acid as milder for all skin types except sensitive.
I would highly recommend you to start with 5% lactic acid, irrespective of your skin threshold level.

Remember the constant usage of lactic acid can help to boost collagen production and smoothing out fine lines.
It sinks in the skin and instantly gives a radiant glow simultaneously moisturizes the skin.

Always use AHA or BHA in pm.
While using actives don’t use other actives, or layering a hydrating product.
Always start with less percentage.
Don’t use AHA while you’re at retinol, since retinol itself is an exfoliator. You don’t want to peel off the skin with excess exfoliation.

It helps in

✔️ Acne
✔️Hyperpigmentation & sunburn
✔️ Stimulate collagen
✔️ improves fine lines and wrinkles
✔️ increase ceramide
✔️Ideal for dry and sensitive skin.
✔️ Improves skin hydration.

Lactic acid is great to include in skincare, I would recommend going for lesser strength like 5%, you can try Dr sheth’s extra gentle peel
Lactic acid can make photosensitive, slather sunscreen irrespective of anything.

Best Niacinamide serum in india

If you’re familiar with indian skincare, then I bet you already knew how Niacinamide is talk of town.

Known for it’s unlimited benefits without any potential side affects this ingredients has been a game changer for many.

Let me brief you on Niacinamide:

✔️ Niacinamide is a water soluble, it doesn’t dissolve in oil. Usually it’s a silent ingredients found in many water based serum and moisturizer.

✔️It has a pH of 7 = neutral, absorb easily in outer layer of skin.

✔️ It Nourish skin barrier by hydrating that plump skin, control sebum production that leads to less clogged pores which eventually leads to less pore size.

✔️ It also helps to control & alleviate mild to moderate acne, it’s anti microbial & antu inflammatory.

Studies also show’s when Niacinamide & salicylic acid used together it often results in reduce pore size & bumpy skin texture.

Though Niacinamide seems too good to be true, however there’s lot of complaints on its side-effects example purging to name a few.

It’s always advisable to use Niacinamide or any active in less percentage, the lower the merrier.

5% is begginer friendly.

Start with using twice a day then slowly increase it usage to everyday.

I have tried both ways 5% & 10% neither of them irritated my skin.

Well I have some indian formulated Niacinamide.

The DermaCo 5% Niacin toner

One of the best way to introduce Niacinamide is in toner form as it sweep in skin efficiently. DermaCo niacinamide contains 5% niacinamide which is begginers friendly along with yuzu fruit which is knows to fade away uneven skintone.

Suganda niacinamide serum:

It comes in 10% niacinamide along with hyaluronic acid, panthenol, green tea and centella.

Though the percentage seems strong but indeed it one of the hydrating, calming and soothing formulation bind together.

Deconstruct brightening serum review

It contain 10% Niacinamide 0.3 % alpha Arbutin, the powerful formulation help in fading pigmentation, dark spots and reduces melanin production.

Yet another indian brand focusing on single ingredients formulation Deconstruct

The combination of niacinamide & alpha Arbutin helped brighten skin.
Skin look more rejuvenated.
It has definitely controled my melanin production which I got from sun damage.
Faded recent dark spot left behind by acne completely.
So far I’m impressed with brighting serum.
For all those who complain about fragrance well all the above product are odourless.

Dr. Sheth’s Retinoid power emulsion

Today I finished Dr.sheth’s Rosehip & retiniod Power emulsion.

If you have read my Retinol journey 2020 blog you would know how Tretinoin proved disaster for my skin.

Thankfully now in India, we have many brands to rely on for Retinol as OTC (over the counter) cream.

Retinol for skin:

Vitamin A aka Retinol is known as the gold standard in skincare.

It was earlier introduced for acne treatment later on researchers develop how it helped in anti-aging too. It was prescription based which is high in results and irritation.

While retinol OTC is great for beginners friendly with less irritation and good results.

Dr. Sheth’s Retinoid power emulsion

Dr sheth’s Retinoid power emulsion:

Dr sheth’s have launch their Retinol emulsion with Rosehip oil, Bakuchiol and granactive Retinoid in 2020.

Firstly I’m so happy they didn’t promote bakuchiol as the anti-aging ingredient because there can be only one Retinol for skin that is vitamin A.

Though the formulation is power packed with vitamin A as rosehip oil and granactive Retinoid are high potent of vitamin A.

How does these products help:

Every skin has its cycle which depends on one’s age.

lower the age faster is your skin cycle. When you apply Retinol it will speed up the skin cycle to shed older skin fast and bring new skin.

This way your skin gets exfoliated, unclogged well without using any other external means.

Which also means combating dark spot, pigmentation, appearance of fine lines, wrinkles while increasing smoother skin texture, firm elasticity, slowing down the break-ing collagen production and thus plumper skin.

Granactive Retinoid is the Gen z of retinol, due to its less irritation and high performance this is ideal for everyone.

Dr sheth’s Retinoid power emulsion:

It comes in a classic black bottle with a pump dispenser. Which look luxurious and chic.

The emulsion is a slight yellow gel based which turned to a creamy texture that sinks into the skin in no time. It does have a beautiful fragrance that doesn’t linger on me.

I have been using it for many months, haven’t noticed any breakout or skin irritation.

⭐RETINOL in any form shouldn’t be use of you’re breastfeeding, trying to convince or pregnant.

⭐ Retinol always should be applied at night on dry skin, followed up with sunscreen of SPF 50 atleast.

⭐It take atleast 3 months to see visible results, so patience is the key.

⭐ Don’t expose any Retinol product to sunrays/ sunlight as they are photosensitive and can degrade it’s quality.

Let me know if you have tried any Retinol and do wait as I have my Retinol stocked full.

My retinol journey 2020

The latest trend of late 2020 has to be  introducing Retinol in skincare.

I first started tretinoin 0.025%.
Tretinoin is an prescription Retinol, it work quick and can make skin irritated.

As I came from vacation in 2018 I was fully tanned and pigmented.
Within span of weeks I saw great results, late 2019 I stopped using tretinoin as I wasn’t able to see any results.

2020 was the year of worst, I again started my tretinoin journey same percentage but my impulsive acts made my skin worst.
My skin was irritated as hell, red as tomato and broke like hell.
I stopped using tretinoin and threw it away, I know myself better .

I calmed my skin with hydration, applied peptides and olay regenerist cream.

Within 4 weeks by skin was almost okayish, except dark spot left by pimples.

My retinol journey

If social-media is making you to try tretinoin then ask yourself will you able to control the application and quantity because clearly I wasn’t.
Now I regret doing it, have tried multiple Retinol OTC from Indian brands and safe to say if you need results hang in there and turn towards OTC retinols.
They’re result might be slow but process will be endeavouring.

Olay regenerist micro sculpting cream comes with SPF 30, you may see your mother loving, it’s time you also enjoy using it.
